- What to include: The judges will want to know how your initiative, product, technology or management approach made a difference, so please outline the challenge at the outset, before explaining how the project has improved the situation. Please note that supporting material will only be called upon where necessary and may not be viewed by the judges – please make your case within the entry form.

A) Concept: Please provide a brief outline of the initiative, how it originated, and its objectives. (200 words)
B) Delivery: Please explain how your initiative was delivered, including any partnerships or technology deployments, and how you judged its success. (200 words)
C) Innovation: Please explain the innovation behind this initiative. How does it go beyond existing best practice? What makes it stand out from other initiatives in the industry? (200 words)
D) Benefits: What measurable benefits have been achieved? Please include financial, customer and environmental benefits, where relevant. (200 words)
E) Potential: What is the potential for adopting this initiative across the water sector and elsewhere? How could it positively impact the industry in the future? (200 words)
Water companies – whether wholesale or retail - not only have a responsibility to serve their customers well today but are also asked to prepare for the challenges of tomorrow through innovative practices, and building resilience and sustainability. They hold the environment in trust for future generations, and have a responsibility to improve it, to reduce their carbon footprint and that of their customers, and to proactively engage in water efficiency and leakage management at scale to manage the supply:demand balance in the face of climate change and water poverty. This award will recognise the water company that can best demonstrate a combination of outstanding customer service, agenda-setting innovation, commitment to and impact on improving the environment, operational resilience, water efficiency, leakage management and carbon reduction and workforce best practice through its work in 2021.
